Dear Mike,
Where do I start? I always said that if, God forbid, anything ever happened to you, I would never get married again. It's not because I did not enjoy being married, but rather because no one could ever replace you. No one could live up to your standards. You were my best friend, my comfort, my comedian and my loving husband.
It is so unfair that you were taken from us this soon. The pain that I feel is indescribable. I am sad for so many reasons.
But on the grueling plane ride across the country, I made a decision to be thankful instead, and I hope others will do the same.
- I am thankful that JT gave me a job at Little Caesars, which led me to you seventeen years ago.
- I am thankful for the sparkle you had in your eyes, and your amazing wit and sense of humor.
- I am thankful for the way that you loved me.
- I am thankful for all of the wonderful friends that you shared with me from Kalamazoo, and I hope that you won't forget us, now that you are gone.
- I am thankful that you felt no pain, and hope that you never saw it coming.
- I am thankful that you were a wonderful father and that the kids got to know you, even if it was for a short time.
- Most of all, I am thankful for the 3 beautiful babies that you have given to me! I will do my best to raise them with your strength behind me. And I will do my best, as well as many others will, to make sure that your memory stays alive in them. Your kids will know who you were, and you will live on in them and in me forever.
Love Always,
Your Wife
